Exodus 22:1-15It is our desire to love God and to love one another with all our heart, our mind, strength and soul. While love is a wonderful warm feeling, it is not our own feeling. As divisions threaten our Christian churches, God’s Spirit unites us in Christ. Psalm 133:1 says, “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” Doesn’t that sound nice?
In the ferocious divisions of our world, Christian churches are to be refuges of unity. Jesus himself put it like this: “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples if you love one another” (John 13:35). The world is to marvel at the Christlike love that unites Christians.
