Hawaiʻi celebrates Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole with parades, hula, concerts and other events throughout the state. As Hawaii isn’t fully opened, due to increases in Covid cases, celebrations this year are still very low key. Until Hawaii kamaʻaina (residents) are fully vaccinated and covid cases decline, Hawaiʻi will have to hold off on bigger events.
Prince Kūhiō was the only monarch to serve in the U.S. Congress and he is largely responsible for building the infrastructure improvements in Hawai`i.
Prince Kūhiō and his brothers are credited with introducing surfing to America and England.
Hawai`i has hit a record low on real estate inventory with many remote workers relocating to the islands.
Hawai`i is a beautiful place to visit and drive, please be careful of all the bikers. Roads and bike lanes are sometimes treacherous and bikes do have the same rights to use the roads as cars, so please give them room. Please no tailgating motorcyclists either, roads are in bad enough shape to navigate, so DRIVE WITH ALOHA. Mahalo.
