The role of technology has never been more present in our society than now. With the advent of AI, algorithms, and advanced computing, it is in every aspect of our lives. As our society moves further online, however, so does sexual violence and harassment. In recent years, we have seen an uptick in harassment online, particularly of women, and post-COVID, the numbers only continued to rise. With this has come an increase in misogynistic extremism online, which, some, including today’s guest, argue, is only incited by social media algorithms that bump this harmful content.
