Hear the journey of how a young Western Australian-born, Lithuanian boy took up the sport of rugby league to one day reach it's pinnacle by signing a contract with the then-known New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL), playing first grade with the Western Suburbs Magpies and Balmain Tigers.
.
Mick endured through a golden era of "the greatest game of all", playing alongside Wests legend Tommy Raudonikis, a great friend of Mick's until his passing earlier this year, also John Dorahy, John Donnelly, Steve Blyth and Ronny Giteau just to name a few. Not to mention, lining up against immortals in Artie Beetson and Bob Fulton.
.
Mick took to the field during the 1970s, arguably the toughest era for rugby league, where he ultimately contributed to transcending the sport into what it is today. His contribution off-field is just as significant, currently chairman of the Wests Ashfield board (40 years after representing their clubs) and also giving back to his junior club, the Concord-Burwood Wolves.
