Join us as we talk to Austin-based documentary filmmaker, Gretchen Stoeltje, about the ethics of documentary storytelling and the process of making documentary film Shouting Down Midnight. Shouting Down Midnight recounts how the Wendy Davis filibuster of 2013 galvanized a new generation of activists and reveals what is at stake for us all in the struggle for reproductive freedom.

Gretchen is a native Texan. She made her way West and learned to make films in California, finishing undergraduate and graduate work at UC Santa Cruz. She made three films before earning a law degree from Santa Clara University. She has also published several articles addressing issues of law, technology, film, food miles, smart growth, and intelligent transportation systems. Her film projects include Bionic Beauty Salon, Venom in a Jar, A.R.M Around Moscow and most recently Shouting Down Midnight which recently premiered at SXSW 2022.
