I get it! You mean well! Maybe you don't want your child to suffer, become a victim of weight stigma, or to end up frustrated and unhappy like you, but the research says, over and over again, that what you DO as a parent/role model far outweighs what you SAY when it comes to your child's health, weight and relationship with food.
So, mom, dad, the best thing you can do is to recognize your own body image and food issues and work to figure them out, developing and modeling a positive perspective on your body and a healthy, balanced relationship with food.
