I was interviewed on Valeria Koopman's podcast "A Quest For Well-Being" and she asked me some great questions, one of which was "Janylene, why do people sometimes don’t heal"... She uses the word heal and in my world I talk about change, transition and transformation because I don't believe that the people who come to me are broken or sick, they are more blocked or have difficulty achieving what they want to achieve.
I decided to take this very good question and make it an episode.
Spontaneously, what I see is an attachment to the narrative to what we tell ourselves about ourselves.
Question: What do you repeatedly tell others about yourself? Do you have a label that you use when you meet new people or want to attract an empathetic ear? For example: "I've never had confidence in myself" "I'm very lazy" etc.
How does this story about you serve you? What is the purpose of it? Do you get any secondary benefits from keeping this narrative?
If someone close to you doesn't want to change and it frustrates you, listen to this episode that will surely offer you some insights and help you let go of the desire to push them to change.
