Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day where we commemorate the life and legacy of the preacher and social reformer who galvanized people in the fight for the rights of his fellow man in the Civil Rights Movement. In a turbulent time where many resorted to violence to prove their point, Dr. King was inspired by Jesus and social protestors of the time to confront the oppression with non-violence and promote love over hate. This isn’t easy in a social climate of unrest, that’s why his faith had a lot to do with his persistence in doing things right. Tune in to here about the power of unifying in spite of differences and the power of God’s Spirit who inspires change and makes it worthwhile and long lasting.
