The "calling" of all Christians is to walk in the footsteps of their Master and Savior. This sounds so easy in principle but in practice, it might be the hardest thing we will ever do. Jesus willingly suffered. He graciously endured hardship. He humbled Himself to the ungodly actions of others. WHY? He longed to save their souls.
In this lesson, Peter moves beyond who we are in Christ to what we do in Christ. "Be subject for the Lord’s sake to every human institution... Be subject to your masters... because this is a gracious thing in the sight of God."
Be ready to be challenged and remember, Jesus is our Example, Redeemer, Sacrifice, Shepherd, and Overseer of our souls. Trust Him in this "walk" and "follow in His footsteps."
