Over apologizing is a trauma response I suffered for a long time.
There is a time to apologize. But there's a time to speak up for yourself when you have a need. Sometimes this will be verbally speaking up. Other times it can be resisting the inclination to apologize for yourself when you are having a need met.
At a dentist appointment I learned how healing from my trauma empowered me to stand up for myself. You can do it too.
