Description

Eli Bransford is a local Santa Fean who is tired of seeing the Spanish and Santa Fe cultures come under attack through removal and destruction of statues, monuments and celebrations. AND he is not the only one.  He's started an online series talking about all this you can find on YouTube and soon on BitChute titled "In Defense of Santa Fe".

The series is Eli's perspective as a Santa Fean on the recent cultural, political and historical challenges to his hometown.

-          Activists groups and protesters have succeeded in canceling a traditional celebration (La Entrada), removing a statue (DeVargas) and attacked the Soldiers monument obelisk in the plaza, and more. There is a real push by activists to continue this and much more. T

The series documents what's happening in the community factually along with his opinion.

-          Protesting historic things is becoming common.

-          Incorrect, over-simplified ways of looking at history are becoming more common.

-          This is literally the current generation standing in judgement of previous generations to the point they want to destroy past accomplishments and even remembrance of accomplishments.

These activists and movements are pitting cultures against each other and we can’t fall for it.

Part 1 lays the groundwork for the series. It establishes how Eli is going to use sketches and symbolism of playing cards to help explain. Part 1 also reminds us that the relationship between the Santa Fe, Spanish and Native American cultures has been mostly good for an extremely long time.
