It's certainly different and it really made me think: a dance performance in a woodland that's bordered by a by pass, a housing estate and within a stones throw of a wind farm. Underlie is part of the Entangled arts festival which is on from Sept 18th-26th. Heysham Moss is an area I know well. I grew up living close by and the dance portrays the history of the area, no mean feat given there's a cast of one, no music and the audience are under strict instructions to remain quiet. I was invited to the dress rehearsal which was held on a calm night with the moon rising and the extraordinary nearby birdlife in fine voice.
