We’ve been talking about the two witnesses. It’s a very unique situation in Scripture and given fourteen verses in the book of Revelation. We have determined that we are not exactly sure who they are. We do know they were sent by God to witness. I believe they are not only witnessing of the power of God and prophesying concerning things like that, but they are also talking to the world about the gospel of Christ. If that is correct, many people have come to Christ because of their witnessing for the first three and a half years of the Tribulation Period. We also found that in Revelation 11:7-10, the antichrist is finally able to overcome them and kill them and the world rejoices. The world is absolutely thrilled at their death.

That changes in Revelation 11:11 where we pick up, “But after the three and a half days, the breath of life from God came into them, and they stood on their feet; and great fear fell upon those who were watching them. And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” Then they went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies watched them.” Let’s start with Revelation 11:11 – God has allowed the world to mock and rejoice over the death of His two witnesses for three and a half days. They have been on the earth for three and a half years prophesying and witnessing. They are left to be corpses on the ground in Jerusalem. They are probably right outside of the temple for three and a half days. Then the Lord raises them from the dead. Keep in mind now with the modern technology that we have today, the whole world could be clued in at the same moment. On television and internet or however, the whole world is watching this. Suddenly, these people who have been dead for over three days come to life. That doesn’t happen! Sometimes you hear of people claiming they have died and come back to life after a few moments, but three and a half days of laying on the ground and witnessed by the whole world and then suddenly they come back to life is quite amazing. When that happens, we hear the Lord saying, “Come up here.” The Lord is calling them to himself and when He does that they are not only resurrected from the dead, but they go back up into the heavens to be with the Lord. It says that their enemies are watching them. So, it is not just their friends, people who might fudge on the witnessing of what they saw, but the world also sees this. Their enemies see them come back to life and watch them as they are taken into heaven . . .
