We worked our way through the first couple of verses last time. We are at the end of Revelation 15:3 concerning a wonderful worship service that is taking place. John is seeing two visions:
1. One, has to do with the Tribulation saints who are victorious. They have not bowed the knee to the beast. They have not taken the image of the antichrist and they are victorious for that reason. Whether or not they survived the Tribulation, I am not sure. We do know they are victorious because they followed the Lord.
2. Second, there is a worship service going on and part of that worship service is two songs. One is the song of Moses in Revelation 15:3 and we looked at that back in Exodus 15. If you want to go back there and study that more intently, you will find that about seventeen to eighteen verses make up that song at the time of the exodus after the children of Israel had crossed the Red Sea and God had given them a great marvelous victory there.
There is a second song, a newer song, called the “song of the Lamb.” We find the content of that song in Revelation 15:3-4, “Great and marvelous are Your works, O Lord God, the Almighty; Righteous and true are Your ways, King of the nations! Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy; For all the nations will come and worship before You, for Your righteous acts have been revealed.” There are twelve different songs, or poetic expressions, found in the book of Revelation. This is one of them. This is one we are given quite a bit of content. What we find here is speaking about God. It gives us three things that we should know about Him.
