If you had one message to leave the ones you love with just a few moments to tell them what you wanted them to remember after you are gone and what to look forward to, what would you say to them? We might have a lot of different ideas on that, but when the Lord is closing His revelation in Scripture with Revelation 22, He has one simple message that He will come back to several times: He is coming, and He is coming quickly!

In Revelation 22:7, it says, “And behold, I am coming quickly. Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book.” He repeats that same message in Revelation 22:12 where he says the same thing and then once again in Revelation 22:20. “Behold I am coming quickly.” So, that is the message that He wants to leave to His people. To people like you and I who are looking forward to His coming is to know that He is coming, and He is coming quickly and that should shape the way we live our lives.

So, what would you do if you believe that He is coming quickly?

Let’s look at Revelation 22:6, “And he said to me, ‘These words are faithful and true’’; and the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent His angel to show to His bond-servants the things which must soon take place.” It is interesting how often in this latter portion of Revelation 22 that we are circling back to the very first words in this book. For example, right here it talks about this angel and this angel is going to “show His bond-servants the things which must soon take place.” We go over to Revelation 1:1 and that says the same thing, “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must soon take place.” He started with that message, and He is ending with that message. Apparently, this is even the same angel. There are a lot of angels that show up in the book of Revelation. The first angel in Revelation 1 is apparently the same angel He sends to conclude the book in Revelation 22 . . .
