Description

During this interlude, we are seeing scenes in heaven and what is going there. Here we find the Lord has sealed a number of followers who are living in the Tribulation Period. One hundred forty-four thousand Jews and then a great multitude of Gentiles of every nation and tribe. We find in Revelation 7:10-11 as we are reviewing here that the creatures in heaven fall down and worship the Lord and the Lamb at this time. They are worshiping as these things are going on.

Now, we see starting with Revelation 7:12, the content of the worship. Here is what they are saying, “Amen, blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen.” So, they are glorifying the Lord for His wisdom, His strength, and just for the very nature of who He is. So, this is a beautiful worship service. A beautiful time of praise. Then we go on to Revelation 7:13, “Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, “These who are clothed in the white robes, who are they, and where have they come from?” Why the elder asked John that, I don’t know and neither does John because John comes back in Revelation 7:13 and says to him, “I said to him, “My lord, you know.” Basically, John says, I don’t know who these people are, they’re clothed in white robes. Of course, we know from Revelation 2, 3 & 19, that those clothed in white robes are those who are followers of the Lord, those who are believers, those who have been rewarded. So, we know that, but at this point, John does not. So, he asked this elder who they are, and we continue with Revelation 7:14, “And he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” So, who are these people? These are not believers from the past, not from the Old Testament era, not even from the church age, these are people who have followed the Lord, who have come out of the Tribulation period. Notice, “they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of Lamb.” So, these are believers who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ. In Revelation 7:15 he goes on and says, “For this reason, they are before the throne of God; and they serve Him day and night in His temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them.” They have the great privilege now of serving the Lord with Him day and night. In Revelation 7:16 it says, “They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any heat; for the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the water of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes.” So, these are individuals who apparently have died for the cause of Christ. They are individuals who have been saved by the blood of the Lamb. They are worshipers of God. They are followers of Him . . .
