We are starting a new year! The last two years have been hard years for many of us, and probably for most of the world. We don’t know where 2022 will take us, but we hope it is a little easier for all of us, but it may not be.

We have talked about a lot of things over the last two years on these broadcasts. Many of you have followed along and we very much appreciate that and trust it has been helpful to you. As I was thinking about starting a new year with all of you, I asked myself, “If I could come to your house every morning for just five minutes, and have a cup of coffee, and have a personal time to talk about the Lord with you what would I want to talk about?” It would be a wonderful privilege for me to be able to do that with each of you individually, but that is not feasible, so this format is, in a sense, a way for me to sit down and talk about Christ with each of you in the comfort of your home, office, or even your car. As I pondered this question, I thought that I would like to talk to you about just how rich we are in Christ.

The topic of our riches in Christ is very important in the New Testament, but it is often neglected. We talk about the things we ought to do for the Lord. We talk about what He has done for us. We talk about obligations. We talk about obedience. We talk about all sorts of things that are very important to the Christian life, but I think many times we simply don’t know who we are in Christ. We don’t know our riches, or the treasures, which are ours in the Lord Jesus. If we don’t know who we are, then we are not likely to live out the life that we should live out . . .
