I heard someone say today that if you have rules with not reason, the result is rebellion. I think we can all agree that rebellion sometimes comes, regardless. But this got me thinking about the people in my life and in my kids' lives who have spent time building relationships instead of just having a list of seemingly meaningless rules. Those people who take time to listen, ask questions, learn about you, are taking time to build that relationship. One of those people for me was my grandpa Henry. (Listen to Season 1, Episode 22, "Grandpa and the Rock", to hear a great story about him!) He didn't have money. He didn't give money. What he gave was time, precious time. And that time he gave created some of my favorite memories. So be that person for someone else. Take time. Spend it on someone you love. Time is precious and it really is what people will remember. Time is what creates a legacy for those we love to remember. Spend it wisely.
