This episode about Elder abuse. Approximately 1 out of every 10 Americans over 60 years of age have experience abuse yet, only one in 24 cases of abuse are reported. The annual loss of financial abuse is estimated to be $36.5 billion. The sad thing is elders who experience financial exploitation is self reported at a higher rate than sexual, physical, emotional, passive and other abuse. We need to educator ourselves and our elders . They need to know it is ok for them to let someone know they are being hurt. our elders should be care for not taken advantage of.
