ChillHop (or Lo-fi Hip-Hop) has origins that date as early as the 2000s, utilizing components that originate from Jazz and Classical Music. During the 2010s, there was a noticeable increase in the number of listeners of ChillHop as well as subgenres that emerged from the subgenre (such as chillwave and vaporwave).
