Nathan Davamoni is proudly from the LGBTQ+ Community. He found a place to flourish both at work and within his community. He is a project officer at NBN and is a growing voice within the corporate space on the importance of diversity and inclusion. This journey took him from Townsville to Melbourne. A move that required him to map out his career pathway and save for a year to give himself a strong financial foundation when he moved. Nathan will take us through his career planning, money preparation and how to find an inclusive workplace for yourself so that you can flourish too.
“There needs to be a lot more looking out for each other under the rainbow. I can’t just be looking out for gay men only. I need to be looking out for everyone beneath that rainbow. At times there is an emphasis on the mainstream, you know, the white gay man. A lot of companies will use the image of two white gay men (on their campaigns). There would not be a trans man, or a trans woman or a queer person of colour. There needs to be more representation to start the conversation, to start that mindset”. - Nathan
