Amelia Jenks Bloomer wrote about a new, more practical outfit for women in her newspaper, The Lily, published, written, and produced by women FOR women, and the outfit soon took on the name "bloomers". Amelia was a dedicated women's rights activist who was always looking to connect women together to help further the cause, including introducing Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton!
