Canada's first woman to achieve the title of Professor, Carrie Derick, was a dedicated and passionate teacher from the age of 15. Carrie worked continuously to use the knowledge she acquired to better the lives of people around the world. From fighting for birth control rights, raising funds for Serbians fleeing the Austro-German army, or passionately educating her students at McGill University (despite the disrespect she routinely received, Carrie exhibited nothing short of sheer determination to continue growing within herself and sharing her bright light.
