Lillian Wald founded the Henry Street Settlement in New York City's Lower East Side in the early 1900s, among other institutions and governmental bodies. After seeing the turmoil that the immigrant communities were facing on a daily basis, Lillian dedicated her life to helped the underserved tenement communities... and that's just the beginning!
