Many serve idols and yet attend church services on Sunday. You are privilege to be chosen to experience the light and to taste the sweetness of God. Those who live in spiritual darkness have seen the light of the gospel and to those who live in the land of spiritual and moral death, Jesus was raised to set them free from captivity. The extent of the you receive is determined by the extent of your darkness. The Israelites lack the light of God hence received the molten calf god. To have another God is to deny and eject God's commandment. You must be cautious not to turn man made objects and God's blessings into your god. Whatever you received and stop following God is your new God. There must be no carryover of other gods into your new life in Christ, otherwise, you would be cut-off from God. Confidence in man is turning him to your god. It is not excusable if your trust is in your unholy business and yet gives the glory of your evil actions to God.
