Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin has been found guilty on all charges in the May 2020 death of George Floyd, including charges of second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. Then, Maxine Waters recently told protestors that they need to "get more confrontational" in order to combat what she considers to be systemic racism in the police force. Why aren't democrats condemning these incendiary comments, and worse, why are many of them defending it? Finally, George W. Bush was recently interviewed by USA Today and trashed the modern-day republican party as being "isolationist, protectionist and nativist." These charges simply aren't based in reality. George W. Bush is completely detached from today's conservative movement, and we must not let him and others like him drag our party back to the days of establishment republicanism.
