In this episode, the Huddle Guys continue their Women in Accounting series by featuring Nikki Winston, Accounting Coach, Writer, Podcaster, and Blogger. Nikki is an alum of The Ohio State University, and during recent visit to the campus she reflected on the Accounting 101 professor (and the actual lecture hall) that piqued her interest in the profession. In addition to liking the subject matter, Nikki saw the accounting field as one that was practical, offered stability, and afforded professionals an opportunity to charge a premium for their expertise.
While Nikki Winston is an advocate for more African American women becoming CPAs, she also recognizes that some expert accountants opt for different paths. She is also passionate about financial literacy education, helping others to adopt an investor mindset and learn how to make their money work for them, instead of always working for their money.
