In part 2 of our Global Diversity Awareness Month series, Courtnie Brazier Barrett (vice president of equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility strategy at Randstad Sourceright), and Vaishali Shah (vice president of diversity and inclusion at Randstad Sourceright, supporting our MSP and contingent business) sat down once again to talk about driving DEI initiatives forward, but this time focusing on its importance during a possible recession. With economic uncertainty looming ahead, some employers may feel they can put their workforce diversity initiatives on hold, or that they won’t be as critical as they’ve been in recent history. Courtnie and Vaishali shared their insights on why this is not true and argued that if possible, DEI is more important than ever. They also gave very concrete examples and shared tactics on how companies can make sure that their diversity goals are met, regardless of the economic conditions.
