For the third episode of July's coming of age movies, Corey (@coreyrstarr) selected Garden State. Directed, written, and starring Zach Braff and featuring performances from Natalie Portman and Peter Sarsgaard. Jonathan (@berkreviews) watched it once before (read his review here), but was looking forward to seeing it again. The film could have split the two, but it worked out that Corey was into this one.
Next episode - City of God (2002)
Jonathan picked the film City of God for the last movie from the coming of age theme. The film is directed by Fernando Meirelles and Kátia Lund starring Alexandre Rodrigues, Leandro Firmino, and Matheus Nachtergaele. It's been on his list for a few years and he's excited to get it off the gap list.
