Partly because the country is on lockdown and partly because Jonathan (@Berkreviews) and Corey (@coreyrstarr) were not feeling like the previously planned theme was that compelling, April 2020 features Small Screen movies. These are films that are currently streaming on one service or another.
As far as the podcast goes, each episode features an in-depth review of the movie for the week. They begin with a spoiler-free review before diving in completely after the needed spoiler warning. However, before getting into the review of the week, Jonathan and Corey discuss what other movies they've seen since the last episode as well as anything else they feel like discussing. To help them decide which of the many films to watch each month they started creating themes for them all.
Week 2: Horse Girl (2020) on Netflix
For Week 2, Corey selected the Netflix original film Horse Girl (2020). Directed by Jeff Baena and starring Alison Brie, Molly Shannon, and Goldenite, Horse Girl shows "Sarah, a socially isolated woman with a fondness for arts and crafts, horses, and supernatural crime shows finds her increasingly lucid dreams trickling into her waking life." Both Corey and Jonathan are fans of Brie, she starred in the TV series Community (now on Netflix) and Mad Men.
