Mike Claiborne talks with Incarnate Word head basketball coach Dan Rolfes about a variety of topics including:
-when did the coaching bug bite you?
-every coach coaches to win games but did you think you would be coaching this long and win this many games? You been at this a long time and yet you have a winning percentage of 87%. That’s crazy!
- When you coach high school or college the chances of having a complete team because of graduation is hard. How have you kept it together?
-How often internally do you think about the past and find simularities to the teams and players you coach now?
-This team is a carry over from last year when you won the whole thing. How excited were you when you realized you were going to have everyone back with a championship with them under your belt?
-Other than the score of the games, the numbers are not gaudy. It looks like you are winning on defense, how much of a challenge is it to get kids to buy in on playing defense?
-The game of womens basketball has blown up locally as well as around the country and locally incarnate word has had a lot to do with that. What schools in your eyes have really stepped up their games over the last few years?
-Best advice you ever got when it comes to coaching
-Coach that inspired you to get into coaching?
