I think my 8th great grandmother Elizabeth Watkins Stockley Stratton, 1633-to after 1697, liked to say, "I'm not finished yet and it's not yours till I am!" Through the court cases at Accomack County, Virginia her tale is told of evading the sheriff. What a life she led, living through hurricanes and having twelve surviving children raised to adulthood in the 17th century, including the daughter of her second marriage whose husband was giving her grief.
