We are currently working on a popular Bangla song that highlights wedding traditions in Bangla culture. Specifically, the piece focuses on the bride’s preparation for her special day. In Bangladeshi culture, it is common for both the bride and groom to use turmeric paste (holud) to achieve equally glowing skin for their wedding ceremonies. The traditional Bangladeshi bride has a Mehedi Sondhya, during which a turmeric paste is applied to the skin to give it a yellow tint.
