Description

From 2008-2020, Daniel Murphy was one of the best infielders in the major leagues. He was selected to three All-Star Games, won the Silver Slugger Award twice and was the 2015 National League Championship Series MVP with the New York Mets. He set a postseason with six straight postseason games with home runs in 2015, including one in all four NLCS games.

He also finished second in the Most Valuable Player voting in 2016 while a member of the Washington Nationals. Now that he's retired, he returned to Jacksonville University — where he played baseball before leaving early to go to the Major Leagues — to finish his degree.

He joined the Get in the Game Podcast to talk with Scott Linebrink about his playing days, how he and his wife Tori made their marriage and family work during the grueling baseball season, what he learned about hard work from his father, faith, and the different ways he and his wife are using their platform to serve others.
