One of the most successful hitters of his era, Mark Teixeira played 14 years in the major leagues where he racked up numerous awards and honors and won a World Series in 2009 with the New York Yankees. After starring at Georgia Tech University, Teixeira was drafted No. 5 overall in 2021 by the Texas Rangers, where he played from 2003-2007. After brief stints with the Atlanta Braves and the Los Angeles Angels, he finished his career with eight years as a member of the Yankees. He was selected to the All-Star Game three times, won five Gold Glove Awards, three Silver Slugger Awards and was both the American League home run and runs batted in leader in 2009. After retiring in 2016, he's focused on spending time with his family in Austin, Texas. He joins Scott Linebrink this week on "Get in the Game" to talk about life after baseball, his charitable efforts that he started during his career and is continuing still, and how his relationship with God is at the center of what he does.
