Mike Sweeney spent 16 seasons in the Major Leagues from 1995-2010. He was selected by the Royals in the 1991 MLB Draft and spent 13 seasons in Kansas City where he was named to five All-Star teams.
After stints with the A's, Mariners and Phillies, Sweeney signed a one-day contract to retire with Kansas City in 2011. Four years later, in 2015, he was inducted into the Kansas City Royals Hall of Fame.
