Youth tackle football is a staple sport in America. But should it be?

As a fan of the game, I find it challenging to look at the realities of what can happen to our kids and their brains when they play football.

Chronic traumatic encephalopathy , or CTE, has made big news in recent years. Concussions, CTE, post-concussion syndrome and related conditions are issues for players from the NFL all the way down to the youth level.

But all the effort to diagnose, treat and prevent concussions may be missing the real danger.

Brain injuries, damage and disease are being discovered in former players who never reported a concussion.

Is it time to end tackle football at the youth level? Is the risk of brain damage and injury just too great?

Join me for a look at the current and shocking research and a discussion of what it means and what can be done to keep our kids in the game!
