Description

Jennifer Ganske was born and raised in a little town called Abbotsford outside Vancouver in Canada. As a young adult she travelled to Australia for University where she completed first her Bachelor of Arts through ECU and then a graduate certificate in Media and Marketing at QUT.  She has worked in the United Kingdom and America, and was living with her partner, Simon, and their young son in New York before the opportunity to return to Australia presented in the form of Simon’s family farm just outside of Beaufort.   During her years overseas Jennifer experienced some of the best and worst of mainstream media, including the highs and lows of reality television which saw her living in a nightmarish reality style renovation, and even travelling with Australia’s favourite pranksters, Hamish and Andy, during their gap year adventures.  Since her return to Australia Jennifer has worked in a variety of marketing and tourism roles, first in the Pyrenees region and then in Ballarat through both the Ballarat City Council and Sovereign Hill. Most recently Jennifer has taken on the role of National Head of Tourism and Arts with NBN. In her latest role Jennifer has had the opportunity to learn about all the new and upcoming advances in technology and communication. Challenged by the emerging global pandemic just days after commencing her new role she has seen first hand how effective telecommunication can be in maintain connection, but recognises too the loneliness that can come from maintaining connections at a distance.
