Leon Wilson happily admits that he isn’t a big talker, unless you happen to get him started on a subject that he is passionate about! Leon, the director and online manager of Revolution Print, is passionate about his family, his craft, and his business. Having grown up in Ballarat, Leon left high school without any true focus on what he wanted to do as a career. Having planned to take a gap year straight out of school, Leon worked in hospitality for 6 months to save some money before starting a traineeship as a technician in photocopier and printer sales and repairs at Online System Repairs. Through his work, Leon had the opportunity to connect with a lot of people around Ballarat and learnt some important lessons about small business. Through his sales role at Online System Repairs Leon connected with and moved into a role in IT at Ballarat District Nursing to assist with the upgrade and distribution of their new database and operating platform. He travelled all around Victoria to roll the system out to various district nursing services, but the loneliness of life spent on the road, travelling and working, took a toll on his mental and physical health and forced him to change direction. After a period of time off work to recover Leon re-entered the workforce at Kingprint, helping to build the online platform before he took the leap to buy into the business and since then has helped it to evolve and grow to keep up with the demands of an ever changing technological environment. After further acquisition and rebranding to become Revolution Print, Leon’s business has gone from strength to strength and continues to grow. Though his time and focus is often put into his work, Leon knows the importance of balance, so always makes time for his young family and his own health and well-being.
