t’s hard to imagine that doing something as simple as attending Stereosonic has the capacity to change your life, but for Matt Djordjevic, at just 19 years of age, that is exactly what happened. The Ballarat boy who left school at 16 to undertake a building apprenticeship was just minding his own business when opportunity presented itself in the form of the ‘Best looking guy at Stereo’ contest. Taking home the victory set Matt off on an extraordinary journey in which the boy who had rarely even travelled outside his home state, was suddenly jet setting around the World enjoying the life of a male model.   What ensued was a whirlwind of travels between shoots in Australia, the US and across Europe to develop his portfolio, before Matt set his sights on New York and was picked up by Ford Models. For four years Matt lived and worked in New York, modelling for some big labels like Abercrombie & Fitch and Ralph Lauren, before the global pandemic and time for a career shift brought Matt home to Ballarat.   Now, back in Ballarat, Matt has continued to work as a model, represented by Sydney based company FiveTwenty Model Management but has also found some new direction having returned to study to pursue his interest in finance.
