"And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, and the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful." (Mark 4:18-19) If we want God's word to bear more and more fruit in our lives, there must come a pruning and cutting away of the distractions and cares of this life. It's up to us to exercise dominion over our minds, so that our hearts are not contaminated by the things of the world.
