Your knowledge of God's word should come before everything else. You cannot truly worship a God that you don't know. Jesus said that glorifying the Father begins with having the Word abide in you so that you will bear testimonies in your life (John 15:7-8). If you don't know your rights as a child of God, you will end up living a life far below what Christ has purchased for you. God honors His word above His name, so before we sing songs about His name, we should get revelation from the Word about the power and authority behind the Name.
