Episode 94
So many of us struggle with taking accountability for our life and find it easier to place blame. In this episode of The Empowering Process Podcast, Mistie Layne shares her story of a life altering incident that took a life and changed her life forever.
“We just need to learn to take accountability and make the changes we need to make to make ourselves happy, not so much to people please or make society happy. But to be happy with who we are…
I wanted to be a surgeon since I way back. I grew up in a family of medical professionals, so that's all I knew. It's all I wanted, and I put so much pressure on myself. Then there was a point in my life too, where [I was] all in right? So, either you go, and you do it, and you're miserable [or you disappoint]…The pressure made me miserable. [I did not want to] back out and let everybody else around me down or feel like a failure because I didn't follow through with what I said I was going to do”
After numbing out and drugging out Mistie woke up in the hospital only to discover she had injured someone with her car who died.
This experienced forced her to look in the mirror and own her actions. She also now owns her intentionality in giving back.
