Born and raised outside of Boston, MA, Nealy received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Michigan. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Her work has been selected for publications such as CandyFloss Magazine, and is part of private art collections across the country.
Nealy’s work explores our personal relationship with nature through color, line, and form. Employing a range of mediums, her style is highly expressive. Using luminous watercolor washes and gestural pastels, she aims to capture the shifting light, colors, and shapes of our environment. As planned as it is exploratory, Nealy’s process begins with intentional compositions, leaving room for the natural tendency of the medium to evolve on page.
Nealy hopes for her work to provide a moment of reflection, a moment of escape; to reconnect us with land, sea, and sky and the feelings we experience when surrounded by nature.
