Description

Emergency powers, limits on movement, surveillance and restrictions on free speech and information - these are just some of the worrying measures that countries around the globe have enacted in clamping down on democracy and human rights. The closing of civic space has affected many of our network labs, as well, encouraging our teams to devise creative strategies to push back against these restrictions.

In this next episode of our AccountabiliTEA podcast, Kibo Ngowi speaks to Narayan Adhikari at AL Nepal and Upenyu Makoni-Muchemwa at AL Zimbabwe to understand  what strategies communities can use to resist the kinds of attacks we're seeing on democracy and human rights. Listen in as they speak about the critical importance of not working in silos, creating safe spaces for dialogue and building trust with local leaders that help AL best position ourselves to address these challenges when they occur.
