Producer and songwriter Terence Thompson took a moment to chat with Muzilog's Samuel Archer about his new Jazz full-length release and a little thing about everything else.
Terence Thompson is a versatile producer, songwriter, artist, and musician. Throughout his career, Terence has collaborated with a diverse group of artists, musicians, and producers across all genres of music to include Teddy Riley of Blackstreet to prolific jazz drummer and producer Nate Smith. Terence's hand picked and recorded the music for Michael Jackson's "Heaven Can Wait,"' which was produced primarily by Nate Smith for Terence's production company.
Terence played a significant role in helping to launch the career of Elliot Yamin. Terence mentored Yamin before and during his time on AI. Terence's versatility as a songwriter and producer can be heard on Monifah's "Too Late" and "How Ya Gonna Luv Me" (Home project). Terence and Antoinique Parker penned the lyrics for both songs. Terence also co-wrote God's Image's "There's Only One Name."
Terence conceived this project in early 2020, and production on the project began that summer. To bring his compositions to life, he solicited the assistance of the following superb musicians and human beings:
