It would seem pretty obvious that we'd want others to treat us as we'd be treated. But that seems to fly out the window when we're disagreeing with someone, especially in heated debate on sensitive topics.
How can we practically use Jesus' words to help us be more Christlike in these situations? It may not be as easy as it seems, but it needs to be done intentionally with the goal of reflecting Jesus so this person might want HIM above all else.
