We go to movies; read literature; our kids play pretend games that all have the same theme: there’s a hero; some guy or gal saves the day and makes everything awesome. But in the real world where we live and work and play, who do you consider a true hero? The word of the Lord comes to a hesitant prophet named Jonah, and it’s through Jonah that we learn heroes— those who make a difference — are simply the ones who say “yes.”
