This I Believe by Caleb F.

Everyone thinks it's bad to fail, well they don't know how to fail the right way.

Winning at failing is something that people think doesn't make sense, they just need to

know how to do it. All you need to do is learn from your mistakes you made to fail at

something, once you do this you'll have finally won at failing. People are afraid of failing

because they think what they'll fail at is a one-time thing, if it is a one-time thing then

don't worry, when another opportunity comes then they will know what to do if they took

their mistake with them. In my life, I've failed at many things including friends, jobs,

people, and family, but the only way I have learned to fix the problems is to learn from it

and apply it to the future.

Some mistakes can lead to a new idea such as a new invention or a new recipe.

Chefs tend to go by the phrase, “there are no mistakes in cooking only ways to improve

or change”. Bob Ross even mentioned in nearly every episode of “The Joy of Painting”,

the fact that there are only “happy little accidents” and that every mistake that is made

can always be turned into something better.

Examples of accidental inventions are the x-ray, medicine, and the pacemaker. These

inventions were mere mistakes that someone made but yet they have come to help us

so much today. Just think about how you could one day have your life saved by a

mistake from years ago. This is why you should never be afraid to make a mistake, you

can always improve on the worst of problems.

Basically, you should take away the fact that things happen, some we can control

and others we can't. The universe is based on unpredictability and far odds, and the

chances of someone making a mistake are more common than you think.

Learning from your mistakes is an important skill to have, not only just to win at

failing but the mistake can sometimes be the fix to the problem, and all that is needed is

for someone to apply the mistake. My senior quote is “you can win at failing if you learn

the mistakes you made to fail”, instead of joking and making fun, I wanted to put

something that would actually be useful to people. I'm usually not useful to anyone but

for the rest of this school's life, when someone goes to the library and sees my

quote, they will have something to actually take away from mine.
