You Have To Fail In Order To Succeed by Preston M.

At my technical school, while I was mixing up paint, a big glob of it fell in

the mixing cup instead of it being a darker color, it became a lighter color. But

after I got used to shaking the containers the paint was in, I was able to not have

big globs of paint go into the mixing cup. At tech, when I was first doing dent

repair, I did a bad job at making my repair not noticeable and smooth, but after

doing it so many times I got better at it.

When I was priming my bumper at tech, someone in the class didn't set

the gun upright, so when it was my turn to use it, I had runs in the bumper. Once

it dried, I had to sand the runs out of the bumper. After I got the runs out of the

bumper, I had to sand the whole bumper again before I could put more primer on

the bumper. I then took it back into the painting booth and sprayed more primer

on it and it turned out fine.

It was my first time putting a clear coat on my first panel. I put my primer

and base coat on perfectly fine, but when I applied the clearcoat, I applied it too

heavy so it caused heavy runs in the whole panel. In the class, our instructor

gave us a new project where we had to use a seam sealer, I did fine with applying

the seam sealer then we had to hide the line where we worked so you couldn’t

see it. I did fine at that because of how much time I worked with fixing dents and

making it smooth and not noticeable.

At tech, we had to paint our bumper, I did a good job at painting the

bumper the proper color. At my house, I went metal detecting for the first time

and I was expecting not to find anything but nails and other junk, but after digging

my third hole I found a wheat penny. Two days later, I went metal detecting again

but I only found junk until my second to the last hole where I found an arrowhead.

Then that Wednesday, I went metal and found a mercury dime and an old buckle

for suspenders. Friday, while I was metal detecting, I

found an old copper

brooch.

I believe that you have to fail in order to succeed and sometimes you need

to try many times in order to get it right. The biggest people in the world today

have failed at some point in their life. You also would have to fail at something in

life to gain experience in order to do something better and learn from the mistake

you’ve made or done.
